About This 2 Hour Timer

For anything beyond about two hours, a countdown becomes less practical than an alarm clock set to a specific time — but two hours remains a common enough interval to be worth a dedicated timer.

Two hours is 7,200 seconds and one twelfth of a day. It is a bulk fermentation for bread dough in a warm kitchen, a slow-roasted shoulder joint, a long training ride, or four consecutive Pomodoro blocks with their breaks.

What People Use a 2 Hour Timer For

How This 2 Hour Timer Works

The countdown above is already running. When it reaches zero VClock plays your chosen alarm, flashes the display and updates the browser tab title, so you will notice even if you have moved to another window. Press Stop Alarm to silence it or Reset to run the same 2 hours again.

You can change the alarm sound at any point before or during the countdown — Beep, Digital, Alarm Bell, Chime, Siren and Soft Wake are all available, and each plays a short preview when selected. To use a different length, press Reset and type any duration, or pick one from the main timer page.

2 Hour Timer — FAQ

Will a 2 hour timer survive my computer sleeping?

No. If the machine sleeps or hibernates the browser is suspended and the countdown stops. For long timers, disable sleep in your power settings or set a phone alarm as a backup.

Is a timer or an alarm better for two hours?

For anything this long an alarm clock set to the finishing time is usually more robust, because it does not depend on the countdown running continuously.

Does this 2 hour timer start automatically?

Yes — the countdown begins as soon as the page loads, so there is nothing to press. If you would rather start it yourself, press Reset and then Start.

Can I pause the 2 hours?

Yes. Pause holds the remaining time exactly where it is; Resume continues from that point and Reset returns the clock to the full 2 hours.

What happens when the 2 hours finishes?

VClock plays your selected alarm sound on a loop, flashes the display and changes the browser tab title. Press Stop Alarm to silence it.

Is this 2 hour timer free to use?

Completely. There is no sign-up, no download, no daily limit and no watermark — set it as many times as you like.
